Llama & Alpaca livery in France

At Border Llamas, we fully understand the difficulties and stress levels involved when moving home and knowing that your new home is not really ready to take your Llamas or Alpacas.  Having moved farms (Wales to France and a subsequent relocation within France) before we know exactly how difficult it can be to co-ordinate everything when you have a target date for leaving your previous home but with the knowledge that your new home is not really ready (or safe) to take your llamas or alpacas.

A move to a new home can be very stressful and most people find they need some breathing space to get settled into their new home and get their fields and animal housing sorted out before the arrival of their treasured llamas or alpacas.  At the same time there is always the problem of trying to find somewhere, where they understand and know exactly how to look after for your llamas or alpacas.

At Border Llamas we offer a llama and alpaca livery service with your llamas or alpacas being provided with stabling and/or their own grazing field.  We have almost 10 years experience in owning, breeding and training llamas and can assure you that your llamas or alpacas are in good hands.

Our stables have been specifically designed for housing llamas and alpacas and with their safety in mind.  Each stable is 15' x 15' and has 6' wide windows ,extra height stable doors (to prevent jumping out), double fluorescent lights (at 10' height to prevent damage), mineral blocks, rubber water butts and ground level hay racks.

When stables are occupied we muck out 3 time per day and fresh water and hay are topped up twice per day (water buts are emptied and cleaned every 2 days regardless).

Our fields are all fenced with 4' mesh sheep fencing  and topped off with 2 x strands of 22mm gauge high tensile wire.  There is no barbed wire on the farm.

In the event that a problem occurs, we have a local vet who has an extensive knowledge of treating camalids and has provided us with sterling service over the years and the veterinary practice offers a 24x7 service.

Pregnant females are not a problem as we have all the equipment immediately on hand should an emergency arise, we also have extensive experience in the immediate and post birth support of premature cria, assisted or difficult births.  We have extensive experience in the provision of injections, spray on and oral treatments.  We have personally been present at over 50 llama births.
